16mm “Last Vehicle” (LV) Plate – Etched Brass

This one is the “LAST VEHICLE” sign that hangs on the last wagon of the rake.

The use of Last Vehicle signs was not restricted to slate wagons but to any train without a guards van, their purpose being to confirm to a station master that the train has passed through without loss of any rolling stock, which apparently was something of an issue in the early days 😀.

For 16mm scale and measures 25mm wide x 15mm high and 0.81mm thick with and a deep etch of 0.31mm which gives plenty of room to flood paint in. After it’s dry you can easily run with some wet’n’dry sandpaper or a stone to reveal the top of the brass border and letters.
